But the master of magical trickery and illusion didn’t actually run the race. Instead, he watched it on telly at home and later in the day, headed for the post-race awards banquet to entertain the winners and VIPs.

This year, the banquet was held at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel which opened less than a year ago in the City of London.
